Brasserie Julien

16 rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis,75010 Paris
I discovered Julien on my last trip to Paris and was utterly wowed. If you are an art nouveau lover like I am, Paris will always have some treasure or other to offer, and Julien is one such treasure. As you can see, even the doors have the art nouveau flair.  But wait until you get inside. The flower moldings, the green stained glass ceilings, the Mucha-like paintings on the walls, even the carved chairs made me feel as if I had been transported to Paris 1899...

I purposely lowered my expectations of the food, which are often sacrificed in beautiful interiors. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our dishes: honey-lacquered pork ribs and find sea bream.
